Tim Carter Constructing Sign

Glass House Signs By Tim Carter

Based in Knossington, Rutland, Tim Carter specialises in designing and creating beautiful glass wall art, glass house signs and 3D sculptures. In 1992 Tim graduated from Chelsea College of Art & Design where he gained a BA (hons) in Public Art. He went on to work with a team of Artists at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London installing a steel and glass balustrade designed by Danny Lane.

On returning to Leicestershire Tim gained a PGCE in Art & Design Education. He continued to design, manufacture and exhibit his own work and found that he was increasingly drawn to and working with the refractive and structural properties of glass.

His striking 3D sculptures and engraved wall mounted glass & slate artwork are often inspired by nature; particularly ferns and ammonites.

The sense of synergy between the materials seems to be a fitting tribute to their natural and sculptural beauty.

In addition to his sculptural work, Tim also restores, designs and installs stained glass & leaded light windows for historical and contemporary properties. His work can be found in commercial and domestic properties across the region, perhaps most notably at the picturesque Rockingham Castle.

Tim’s artistic talents also extend to glass house signs that he crafts from 15mm thick float glass which are designed and sandblasted to his customers’ specific requirements, making a smart welcome to any property.
